Firenze Clear Ribbed 3-Light Semi-Flush Mount, 21.5 to 28.25 in, Gold Leaf, by Maxim

The Maxim Firenze Clear Ribbed semi-flush mount is a transitional fixture sized for a bedroom, a dining area, an entry or a hallway. It comes in widths from 21.5 to 28.25 in, with 3 lights, in Gold Leaf.

Each socket takes an E12 Candelabra bulb up to 60W. A 2700K to 3000K LED bulb keeps a bedroom or hallway warm; 3500K to 4000K suits a kitchen, laundry room or closet. Maxim rates it for Triac or ELV (Phase Dim) dimming. Clear Ribbed glass softens the light and cuts glare at eye level. The Gold Leaf finish fits Transitional schemes.

Where it works best

A semi-flush mount hangs a few inches below the ceiling, so light spreads across the ceiling as well as down. It works best on ceilings of 8 to 9 ft; keep at least 7 ft of clearance below it in a walkway. For a room, add its length and width in feet; the total in inches is a good diameter (a 10 x 12 ft room takes about a 22 in fixture).

Who this is not for

It is dry rated, so it is not for a shower area, an uncovered porch or other damp spots. Bulbs are sold separately. At up to 31 in tall, it needs a ceiling of at least 8.5 ft to keep headroom.

Care and installation
