Why we carry it
We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and House of Troy earns its place: a Vermont company that has made lamps and picture lights since 1947, with specs it publishes in full. We list only the finishes House of Troy has in its warehouse, and we refresh stock every week, so what you order is what ships.
Care
Turn it off and let it cool, then dust with a soft dry cloth. Skip polishes and abrasive cleaners, which can wear the finish (our advice).
Safety
Meets California Title 20. California Prop 65: this product can expose you to chemicals including lead; see www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Frequently asked questions
What bulb does the Ava 14" Direct Wire Picture Light take, and is it included?
House of Troy specifies (2) 15T-4; it is included.
What size painting is the 14" Ava right for?
It measures 14" wide. A common rule of thumb is a light about one-third to one-half the width of the frame, so it suits frames roughly 28–42 inches wide (our guide). For wider art, choose a longer size in this collection.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
It is a direct-wire (hardwired) fixture that mounts over a recessed junction box with a 4.5" x 6" backplate. We recommend a licensed electrician for installation. If there is no box behind the art, a plug-in version may be easier.
Where is it made?
House of Troy lists it as made in the USA. The company has built lighting since 1947 and manufactures in Hyde Park, Vermont.
Which finishes are available?
It comes in Satin Nickel, Satin Brass, Antique Brass and Black. Each finish shows live availability; we only take orders for finishes House of Troy has ready to ship, so your order will not be cancelled for stock.
How does it ship?
Shipping is free. It ships via FedEx and typically leaves the warehouse in 2–3 business days.
