Light quality and how it performs

Volée gives focused, direct light from an integrated LED of about 800 lumens. At 2700K with CRI above 90, it is warm but accurate: paper, fabric swatches and skin tones look true, which matters for drawing, crafts and long hours at a screen. The head's light is directed down onto the work surface, so it lights the task without spilling into your eyes.

The controls are what set Volée apart. A motion sensor under the head turns the lamp on or off with a wave of the hand, with no switch to find. A touch sensor on top cycles through four levels, 40%, 60%, 100% and off, and a timer switches the lamp off after five hours if you forget. The arm is balanced by steel-wire springs hidden inside, so the head stays exactly where you put it.

Size and placement

At 24.9 in (63 cm) tall with a 27.1 in (69 cm) reach, Volée can cover a full desk from one corner. Set the base at the back edge, on the side opposite your writing hand, and swing the head over the work area. On a bedside table, the long arm brings the light over a book without a large lampshade taking up space.

For two people sharing a long desk or workbench, use one Volée at each end. Its small round base keeps the work surface clear.
