The FontanaArte Re table lamp is a 35 in column of satin opal glass shaped like the king of a chessboard: stacked rings and swellings topped with a glowing orb. Tall enough to stand on the floor beside a sofa or at the foot of a staircase, and striking on a low console, it lights a room from within with a warm, even glow and reads as a piece of sculpture by day. Re was designed to stand with Regina, its wide, low queen, but it holds a room perfectly well on its own.

Light quality and how it performs

Every part of Re glows. The satin finish on the opal glass hides the light source entirely, so the stacked forms read as soft, luminous volumes rather than a lamp with a bulb. The light is a warm 2700K white that spreads gently around the lamp and up the wall behind it, giving a room ambient light at seated and standing height.

A dimmer on the cord sets the level, from a bright glow that lights a corner to a low, sculptural presence for evenings. It is ideal as a second or third light source in a living room, alongside overhead light and reading lamps.
