Light quality and how it performs

Two LED discs sit inside the metal band. Internal layered screens spread the LED light evenly across each disc, so there is no dotty, point-source look. The lower disc washes the table with light that is bright enough to read and work by; the upper disc lights the inside of the tinted glass, so the dome glows amber, smoke or rose depending on the finish. Output is generous: 2900 lumens on the Small and 4500 lumens on the Medium, at a warm 2700K with colour rendering above 90, so wood, skin and fabrics look natural. A dimmer on the cord takes it from full working light down to a low evening glow: tap to switch on or off, hold to dim. The LED is integrated, so there are no bulbs to buy or change.

Size and placement

The Small (16.7 in high, 9.4 in across) suits standard nightstands, side tables and desks; allow about 12 in of clear surface. The Medium (23.6 in high, 14.1 in across) is a statement lamp for consoles, sideboards, large desks and reception counters; allow about 17 in. Because the strongest light falls straight down, set the lamp close to where you read or work. On a sideboard or long console, a pair of Mediums gives balanced, gallery-like light; on a pair of nightstands, the Small keeps the glow below eye level.

Care

Switch off and let the lamp cool before cleaning. Lift the glass dome off with both hands to clean it with a soft cloth and a little glass cleaner sprayed on the cloth; dry it fully before refitting. Dust the metal band, stem and base with a soft dry cloth; avoid abrasives, which can mark polished and glossy finishes. The LED is integrated and not user-replaceable. Use in dry indoor rooms only.
