Voto Glass Dome Flush Mount, 12 in Square, Clear or Smoke Glass, Brass or Gunmetal, by ET2

The ET2 Voto is a shallow glass dome flush mount measuring 12 x 12 in and 4.25 in tall, with an edge-lit LED panel that gives 780 lumens at 3000K and 90 CRI. It draws 16W on 120V and is rated for dry locations such as halls and bedrooms.

Light is distributed upward and downward through the glass, so the ceiling picks up a soft glow and the room below stays evenly lit. The body is steel and polycarbonate with an 11 in canopy, and it weighs 3.55 lb, light enough for a standard box. Natural Aged Brass with clear glass suits a Transitional hallway or bedroom, while Gunmetal with smoke glass fits a Modern or Industrial space. The maker notes the flush mount can also be wall mounted.

Where it works best

Use Voto in hallways, bedrooms, closets, entries and small offices where ceiling height is limited. Run two or three down a corridor for an even rhythm, or use a single one on a landing. Match the brass to hardware in a Transitional scheme and the Gunmetal to black or iron fittings.

Who this is not for

The fixture is rated for dry locations only, so keep it out of baths and covered porches. Voto's LED panel is permanent and cannot be replaced. At 780 lumens it is a gentle source, so add lamps or a second fixture in a larger room.

Why we carry ET2

A real glass dome at only 4.25 in tall is what we look for in low-ceiling hallways. It also doubles as a wall light.

Care and installation

Wipe the glass with a soft cloth and non-abrasive glass cleaner, and dry the metal frame. A qualified electrician should install it, as ET2 recommends. Assembly sheet: E24660 (PDF).

Frequently asked questions

How much headroom does Voto need?

It is 4.25 in tall and 12 x 12 in across, so it works on a standard 8 ft ceiling without hanging into the room. The canopy is 11 in.

How bright is it?

It delivers 780 lumens at 16W, 3000K, 90 CRI. That suits a hallway or small bedroom, but add lamps for a large room.

Can I mount it on a wall?

The maker states the flush mount can double as a wall-mountable fixture. Use a box rated for the 3.55 lb weight.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated for dry locations only, so keep it in halls, bedrooms and closets. A damp rated fixture is the right call for a bath.

Which glass goes with which finish?

Natural Aged Brass comes with clear glass, and Gunmetal comes with smoke glass. Pick the pairing by the mood of the room.

Is the light source replaceable?

No. The LED panel is integrated and has a rated life of 35000 hours. There are no bulbs to buy or change at all.
