The ET2 Grate is a slotted aluminum outdoor wall light in 14, 18, 24 and 30 in lengths, in Black or Architectural Bronze. A recessed LED behind two columns of slits throws a filigree of light onto the wall around it, and the fixture is wet-location rated, ADA compliant and rated at 3000K and 90 CRI.

The slits are stacked in two columns on a rectangular shade, and the LED sits in a blocked-out space so you never see the source. The light falls on the surrounding surface in a pattern, which gives textured walls like stucco or brick a decorative glow. It projects only 3.25 in, has a 4.75 in wall plate and runs on 120V with dimming. Weights run from 3.4 lb to 5.5 lb. Black suits Modern and Industrial exteriors, and Architectural Bronze suits Transitional homes with wood and stone.

Where it works best

Place Grate on either side of a door, in a covered walkway or along a patio wall where you want decoration more than a bright wash. The pattern is most visible on a plain wall, so use it beside a smooth surface. Combine it with a brighter downlight at the door so the entry has both ambient and decorative light.

Who this is not for

Grate is decorative, with low lumen output compared with a task or security light, so do not use it as the only light at a door. There is no bulb to swap, because the LED board is part of the fixture. Each version is a fixed size and finish, and not every size is offered in both finishes. The pattern depends on the wall surface, so test it on dark or rough walls where the light may be less visible.
