The ET2 Braque LED Picture Light is a faceted aluminum bar that lights a painting, a mirror or a shelf from above, in 19, 23 or 30.5 in. The LED rotates to aim the beam, and the color temperature can be set anywhere from 2700K to 5000K.

A polygonal aluminum body is supported at both ends and finished with matching endcaps, so it reads as a tailored bar rather than a bulky arm. It projects 6 in from the wall, and the integrated LED rotates, which lets you tilt the beam onto the art and away from glare on the glass. The dual-mount backplate fits common junction boxes, and an optional 5 in square cover plate neatens the wall. Output runs from 870 to 1,800 lumens, with 90 CRI so colors in artwork stay true, and it dims on Triac or ELV at 120V. Black is graphic against pale walls, Satin Nickel is cooler and quieter, and Gold suits a warm Transitional room or a library with brass fittings.

Which size for which room

• 19 in: The 19 in bar gives 870 lumens at 19.5 W and weighs 3.2 lb. It suits a small painting or print, a framed mirror in a hall or a pair above a narrow shelf.
• 23 in: The 23 in bar gives 1,350 lumens at 30 W and weighs 3.85 lb. Use it above a medium canvas of about 24 to 36 in wide, or over a console and a wall-hung piece.
• 30.5 in: The 30.5 in bar gives 1,800 lumens at 40 W and weighs 4.7 lb. It is the right scale for a large work above a sofa, a headboard or a gallery wall of 36 in or more.

Where it works best

Braque works best above art in living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and galleries, where you want to see the picture and not the fixture. It also suits a mirror in an entry or a display shelf in a shop. Pick the bar close to two-thirds of the width of the frame, and use the 5CCT setting to match the room's other fixtures.

Who this is not for

Braque is rated for dry locations only, so avoid bathrooms with a shower and any exterior wall. The LED is sealed in the bar with a 30,000 hour rated life. The fixture lights downward and outward from the wall, so it will not wash the whole room. It dims on Triac or ELV only, so check your control.

Frequently asked questions

Which Braque size should I choose for my artwork?

As a rule, pick a bar about half to two-thirds as wide as the frame. The 19 in suits frames up to about 30 in, the 23 in suits 30 to 40 in and the 30.5 in suits larger ones. Mount it a few inches above the frame.

How far does the picture light stick out from the wall?

It projects 6 in from the wall. That is enough to aim the beam down the face of the art without hitting the frame edge. Check that nothing hangs close to the wall below.

How do I set the color temperature?

Braque has five settings from 2700K to 5000K. The setting is made at install, so your electrician can choose it. Warm settings suit homes and cooler ones suit galleries and offices.

Can it be hardwired to a standard junction box?

The dual-mount backplate fits common junction boxes, and an optional 5 in square cover plate is available. Your electrician can pick the mounting. The fixture is wired, not plug-in.

Is the Braque dimmable?

Yes, it dims on Triac or ELV at 120V, so pair it with a compatible LED dimmer. Dimming helps protect delicate works and sets the mood after dark.
