Acanthus Aluminum Desk Globe on Gold Tripod Stand

A cream-toned world globe on slim gold legs that gives a desk, shelf or console a focal point you can actually spin.

Start with Acanthus when a study or home office needs a piece that looks considered and still earns its place. A cream map globe sits inside a thin gold ring, held by three tapered gold legs, so the sphere appears to float above the surface.

It stands 20 in (50.8 cm) tall and 14 in (35.6 cm) wide, a good scale for the corner of a desk, the end of a console or a middle shelf in a bookcase.

• Hospitality: a quiet detail for a hotel library, club lounge or executive office.

Planning notes

Give it a little breathing room: a 14 in (35.6 cm) footprint looks best with a few inches of clear surface around the legs. The gold frame picks up brass lamps and picture frames, and the cream sphere works with leather, walnut and navy. For a layered shelf, set it beside a stack of books at a different height.

Who this is not for

• Anyone who needs a navigational or reference-grade globe: this is a decorative piece.
• Surfaces that are cramped; the tripod legs need open space.

Care

Dust with a soft dry cloth. For marks, wipe lightly with a barely damp cloth and dry right away.
