The Surface Acrylic Globe brings the look of a decorative pendant to places where a pendant would be in the way. A clear acrylic globe sits just below a slim canopy, so it works on low ceilings in hallways, closets, laundry rooms and bedrooms, in a row along a bathroom ceiling in front of the vanity, or repeated down a hotel or apartment corridor. Its simple, slightly retro form in Matte Black, White or Polished Chrome suits Modern, Scandinavian and Transitional interiors as well as boutique hospitality spaces.

Inside the clear globe, an etched acrylic light guide glows evenly, so you see a soft, sculpted core of light rather than a bare bulb. Each fixture gives 365 lumens of warm 3000K light at 90 CRI from just 5 W, enough to light a small bath, closet or hallway on its own. Choose the 5-inch canopy with a built-in 120-277V driver for a simple junction-box install, or the slim 2-inch fascia canopy with a remote driver for the cleanest look. About Blackjack Lighting and Stephen Blackman

Blackjack Lighting is a design- and technology-driven lighting maker based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, outside Chicago. It is led by industrial designer Stephen Blackman, its President and Chief Design Officer. A Syracuse University industrial design graduate, he entered the lighting industry in 1984 at Sonneman Design Group and founded his own studio, Blackman Design Associates, in 1988, designing for manufacturers such as Kichler Lighting before launching Blackjack in 2013. Choose the 5 in canopy for a simple install: the driver is built in and it mounts over a standard junction box. Choose the slim 2 in fascia canopy for the cleanest look; it needs a remote driver, sold separately, and comes with 12 ft of coaxial cable to reach it.

Is one enough for a bathroom?

In a small bath or powder room, one can work. Larger rooms usually need two or more, or a row above the mirror for vanity light.

How many do I need for a hallway?
