SSD is a ceiling-filling statement: one hundred Short Frosted mini pendants hung from a 48-inch square canopy, each a small glowing point, together forming a shimmering field of light. It is made for big volumes: hotel and office lobbies, two-story foyers, atriums, open stairwells, restaurants, ballrooms and luxury retail. The pendants come pre-set at varied drops for a rich, layered effect, and the field-adjustable cables let you shape the cloud on site. It delivers real light as well as drama. One hundred 2 W LEDs give 8,600 lumens in total at 90 CRI and 3000K, enough to light a large space on their own. The drivers are built into the canopy, run on 120-277VAC, and dim on TRIAC, ELV or 0-10V controls, so the whole cluster can come down to a soft evening glow. The canopy is built from four 24-inch modules with 25 ports each.

About Blackjack Lighting and Stephen Blackman

Blackjack Lighting is a design- and technology-driven lighting maker based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, outside Chicago. It is led by industrial designer Stephen Blackman, its President and Chief Design Officer. A Syracuse University industrial design graduate, he entered the lighting industry in 1984 at Sonneman Design Group and founded his own studio, Blackman Design Associates, in 1988, designing for manufacturers such as Kichler Lighting before launching Blackjack in 2013.
