The Swan is Besa Lighting’s large-scale cable pendant: a contemporary spun aluminum shade, 24.75 inches across and only 3.25 inches high, with a blown-glass toroidal diffuser that gives a soft inner glow together with effective downlighting. The upper surface is painted Black, Silver or White, and the cable and canopy come in Black, Satin Nickel or White.

It hangs from one 10-foot aircraft-quality stainless steel cable with a 10-foot AWM power cord alongside, under a 5-inch dome canopy in plated stamped steel, and installs to a standard 4-inch box. Light comes from an included 23W integrated LED (2,065 lumens, 3000K, CRI 90+, 25,000 hours), dimmable. The photos show each shade color with the finish noted in the caption.

Who this is not for

• Anyone with a narrow table or a low ceiling: the shade is 24.75 inches across.
• Anyone who wants a replaceable bulb: the LED source is integrated.
• Anyone who wants the shade held on a rigid stem: this page is the cable version.
• Outdoor porches and patios: it is rated for damp interior locations only.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and the Swan stands out in the Besa catalog for its scale: a wide, shallow disc that lights a table evenly instead of hanging as a small accent. Besa Lighting is an American design house based in Ohio; the Swan pairs a large spun aluminum shade with a blown-glass diffuser, finished and inspected at the factory before it ships.

Buy once: durability and care

With the power off and the shade cool, wipe the painted aluminum and the glass diffuser with a soft, lightly damp cloth and dust the cable and canopy with a dry microfiber cloth (our advice). The LED source is integrated, so service goes through Besa. Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.
