This is the cord-hung Besa Lighting Pinta 12, a wide globe of clear glass with optical lines. The shade measures 14.25 inches across and 11.875 inches tall, and it hangs on a 10-foot SVT-type cord whose jacket coordinates with the finish, under a flat canopy with a 5-inch decorative sleeve at the socket holder. You trim the cord to the drop you want at installation, and the canopy installs to a standard 4-inch box and suits sloped ceilings.

Pinta is a wide globe of clear blown glass with optical lines that play with the visible light source, so the bulb you choose becomes part of the look. It takes a 100W A19 medium-base (E26) bulb of your choice (not included). The photos show the Pinta 12 in Satin Nickel; the other finishes share the same glass.

Best for

Kitchens, dining rooms, bedsides, entries and stairwells where a flexible cord should set each pendant at its own height. The Pinta 12 itself suits dining tables, kitchen islands and entries in pairs or threes, and bedrooms where a wide, clear globe should glow without hiding the bulb. Who this is not for

• Anyone who wants a rigid, perfectly vertical drop: Besa’s stem version holds the shade fixed.
• Anyone who wants to change the height later without recutting: the flat-canopy cord is trimmed once at installation.
• Outdoor porches and patios: it is rated for damp interior locations only.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and the cord Pinta 12 is the most flexible way to hang it: the drop is trimmed on site, so every pendant in a run can be set to its exact height. Besa Lighting is an American design house based in Ohio; the Pinta is handcrafted from clear European glass, then finished and inspected at the factory before it ships.

Buy once: durability and care

With the power off and the shade cool, wipe it with a soft cloth and dust the cord and canopy with a dry microfiber cloth (our advice). Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.
