The Artemide Ego Recessed Downlight is a recessed downlight designed by Ernesto Gismondi in 2012. In Artemide's words: “An outdoor family of recessed fixtures for drive-over or downlight application, Ego features high-performance LEDs and is available round or square shape. A stainless steel frame on an aluminum body with silkscreened tempered glass, Ego comes in 3 sizes and offers beam options for spot, flood or wall washing light.” Choose finish, size and the light source on this page.

About the designer

Ernesto Gismondi (1931–2020), an aeronautical engineer by training, founded Artemide in 1960 with Sergio Mazza and led it for six decades, turning it into one of the world's leading lighting companies. He also designed many Artemide lamps himself, and in 2018 he received a Compasso d'Oro career award.

Our advice: switch off and let it cool, then dust with a soft dry microfiber cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners on painted and anodized aluminum. Artemide does not publish separate care instructions.
