Where the Pressa Round Medium LED Outdoor Wall Light works in the house

Front and side doors. Mount one fixture on each side of the door, or one on the latch side if space is tight, with the center about 66 inches above the threshold.

Garages. Flank the door or place one between two doors, a little above the door's midpoint, so the light falls on the driveway and not into the neighbor's window.

Walls, courtyards and paths. Space fixtures about 8–10 feet apart for wayfinding, and check the projection against the walkway width.

When another fixture is the better call

• Anyone wanting built-in motion sensing or dusk-to-dawn control: pair it with a separate sensor or smart switch.
• Anyone who wants a different color temperature: it comes in 2700K only.

Care, cleaning and upkeep

The LED is built in, so there are no bulbs to replace (rated 70,000 hours to L70). Outdoors, rinse off dust, pollen and salt with mild soapy water and a soft cloth a few times a year, and avoid abrasive cleaners on the finish (our advice). Natural brass and copper are living finishes that weather and darken outdoors; that patina is part of the design. Visual Comfort covers it with a 5-year warranty.
