Visual Comfort Cylinders LED Head by Sean Lavin – MonoRail

A track or rail head is only useful if it fits the system on your ceiling or wall. The Cylinders LED Head (2.4" × 2.4" × 8.8") works with MonoRail; the notes below show where it goes.

Dry locations · Dimmable · low-voltage dimmer · Integrated LED · 368 lm · 90 CRI · 3000K · 12V · MonoRail

Where the Cylinders LED Head works in the house

Art walls and galleries. Aim heads at the art from the side so the beam grazes the surface and does not reflect.

Retail and hospitality displays. Heads can slide along the rail as the display changes.

Kitchens and shelving. A rail run above a shelf lights a long surface from one feed.

Room planner: size, height and placement

The numbers below come from the manufacturer's specifications and our own placement rules, worked out for the Cylinders LED Head.

• Rail systems it rides on: MonoRail
• Lamp: integrated LED, nothing to add
• Power: add up the lamp wattage on the run and stay within the transformer rating
• Where it can go: Dry indoor locations

Ceiling and table figures are our calculation for standard room dimensions, so measure your space. Have a licensed electrician install hardwired fixtures.

Pulling the room together

Plan the transformer, the rail length and the number of heads together, and keep the lamp wattage within the transformer limit.

For commercial and multi-unit projects

For galleries, showrooms and boutiques, we can put together a complete parts list: rail, canopy, transformer and heads.

When another fixture is the better call

• Aimed accent light: the cylinders glow rather than spot.
• Standard line-voltage H, J or L track: it only fits the Visual Comfort systems listed.
• Plug-and-play installation: a low-voltage system needs a transformer and an electrician.
• Bathrooms with showers, porches or outdoor use: it is listed for dry locations.

Care, cleaning and upkeep

The LED is built in, so there is no lamp to replace. Dust the head with a dry microfiber cloth with the power off. Visual Comfort covers it with a 5-year warranty.
