Frequently asked questions
Are Nora exit signs and emergency lights code compliant?
They are UL 924 listed and built to NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirements, including 90 minutes of emergency operation. Your local authority having jurisdiction has the final say on letter color and placement.
Red or green exit signs?
National model codes allow either; some cities and states require a specific color. Check locally or match the existing signs.
AC only, 2-circuit or battery backup?
Battery backup signs carry their own battery. AC-only and 2-circuit signs have no battery and need an emergency-backed circuit (generator or central inverter).
What are remote heads?
Extra emergency heads with no battery of their own, powered by a remote-capable unit. Each page lists the units that can power it and the wattage limit.
Where are the spec sheets?
