Koncept Z-Bar Solo Gen 4 LED Desk Lamp

Award-winning Koncept design by Peter Ng, Kenneth Ng and Edmund Ng: soft, even shadows: Gen 4 optics avoid the multiple harsh shadows of older LED task lights.

The Koncept Z-Bar Solo Gen 4 LED Desk Lamp comes from Koncept, the Southern California lighting company (founded 2002) behind the Z-Bar. Rated at up to 888 lumens with 90+ CRI. Choose finish, light color and mounting on this page.

Which mount do I need?

• Desk Base: Free-standing weighted base; sits anywhere on the desk, nothing to install.
• Through-Table Mount: Bolts through a hole drilled in the desktop; the most permanent desk option.
• Two-Piece Desk Clamp: Grips the edge of the desk so the lamp takes no desktop space and the cord is barely visible.
• Slatwall Mount: Fits most slatwall systems (store fixtures, workshops, offices).
• Wall Mount (Plug-In): Hangs the lamp on the wall and plugs into an outlet: no electrician needed.
• Grommet Mount: Drops into an existing desk grommet (cable) hole for a clean, permanent look.
• Hardwire Wall Mount: Connects to a junction box for a cord-free wall lamp; needs an electrician (comes with round and square face plates).
• Power Base (AC Outlet + USB): Base with an AC outlet and USB port for laptops and phones.

Frequently asked questions

Which mount should I choose for the Koncept Z-Bar Solo Gen 4?

It comes in 8 mounting versions: desk base, through-table mount, two-piece desk clamp, slatwall mount, wall mount (plug-in), grommet mount, hardwire wall mount or power base (ac outlet + usb). Clamps, grommet and through-table mounts free the whole desktop; the desk base lets you move it anywhere; wall mounts turn it into a reading or bedside wall light (hardwire needs an electrician). The guide above explains each one.

How bright is the Koncept Z-Bar Solo Gen 4, and what color is the light?

Koncept rates it at 888 lumens (up to 169 footcandles on the work surface). Color temperature: 3500K / 5000K. Color rendering 90+ CRI, so colors look true.

Does the Koncept Z-Bar Solo Gen 4 work with the wireless charging base?

No. Koncept's Qi base works only with the Pro versions, which have the USB-C port that powers it.

Yes. According to Koncept, it received the Red Dot Design Award 2021, iF Design Award 2021 and Best of NeoCon Silver 2021. Our advice: switch off, then dust with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners on painted aluminum. The integrated LEDs never need bulb changes. Koncept does not publish separate care instructions.
