The wall version of the Acquatinta: a hand-blown Murano glass shade on a slim metal arm that turns to give direct or indirect light.

Acquaparete brings the Acquatinta shape to the wall. Designed by Michele De Lucchi with Alberto Nason in 1998, it holds a mouth-blown Murano glass shade on a slim gray metal arm. The shade rotates 180° from top to bottom and the light can be mounted with the cord up or down, so you can point it at the ceiling for a soft indirect glow or down for direct light. Choose sanded glass for the most diffused light, clear glass for sparkle, or transparent green for a tinted glow. The shade is 4.75″ across and 7.9″ high and takes one E12 bulb up to 60 W.

Buy once: durability and care

Glass and metal made to last for decades. Switch off and let the lamp cool before cleaning. Dust the glass and metal with a soft dry cloth; for fingerprints, use a cloth lightly dampened with water (or a mild glass cleaner sprayed on the cloth, never on the lamp) and dry it. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
