The Artemide Demetra Table Lamp is a table lamp designed by Naoto Fukasawa in 2012. In Artemide's words: “Simple in concept, Demetra has an adjustable, turnable and tiltable head with integrated dimmer switch atop an extending arm allowing for direct LED light diffusion. Made of aluminum painted white, grey anthracite or titanium. In addition to table, floor and wall versions, a spotlight is available. About the designer

Naoto Fukasawa (born 1956 in Japan) is an industrial designer known for quiet, intuitive objects. After working at IDEO in the US, he founded his own Tokyo studio, and he has long been a design advisor to MUJI.

Best for

Home offices, studios, reading corners and bedside tables; anywhere you want to aim light exactly where you work.

Who this is not for

• Bathrooms, showers, covered porches or outdoor spaces: it is rated IP20 for dry indoor locations.
• Anyone who needs it soon when choosing a special-order option: those are ordered from Italy and take 10–16 weeks.

Care

Our advice: switch off and let it cool, then dust with a soft dry microfiber cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners on painted and anodized aluminum. Artemide does not publish separate care instructions.

Which base should I choose for the Demetra Table Lamp?

Artemide offers base, clamp or desk support (inset pivot) versions: the base version uses a weighted table base; the clamp version uses a clamp that grips the edge of a desk; the desk support (inset pivot) version uses a desk support (inset pivot) set into the desktop. Pick a base if you want to move the lamp around, a clamp to keep the desktop clear, or an inset pivot for a permanent, built-in look (our advice).

How long will the Demetra Table Lamp take to arrive?

It depends on the option: standard delivery options leave Artemide's warehouse in 2–4 weeks; special order from italy options leave Artemide's warehouse in 10–16 weeks, plus transit time. The item list at the end of this page shows each option's lead time, and we email the confirmed ship date after you order. Because special-order pieces are made in Italy just for you, they can't be changed or cancelled once we place the order with Artemide.
