Who makes House of Troy lighting?

House of Troy started in 1947 as a small custom lamp maker in Montreal, began specializing in picture lights in 1960 and moved to Vermont in the early 1960s, which is where the name comes from. It has designed and built lamps in Hyde Park, Vermont, since 1986.

Are House of Troy lamps made in the USA?

Many are. House of Troy says most of its products are made in Vermont, and each product page here lists the country of origin from House of Troy's own data sheet, so you can see it before you order.

Which picture light size do I need?

A common guide is a light about one-third to one-half the width of the frame. Each picture-light page lists the light's width and the frame sizes it suits (our guide).

What is the difference between plug-in, direct-wire and battery picture lights?

Plug-in lights use a cord and in-line switch, so no electrician is needed. Direct-wire lights mount over a junction box for a cord-free wall and should be installed by an electrician. Battery lights hang anywhere and run on AA or C cells.

Is the House of Troy finish I pick in stock?

We sync stock with House of Troy's warehouse and only take orders for finishes it has ready to ship. A finish shown as sold out is not available right now, so your order will not be cancelled for stock.
