This goose is part of IC Design’s re-edition of Antonio Vitali’s wooden animals. It is carved in maple to Vitali’s smooth, rounded design and measures 3.9" × 1.7" × 4.4". The series as a licensed re-edition of Vitali’s work in solid walnut and maple, made in Italy and Germany with the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, NikiTiki of Tokyo and the painter Resly Reis, Vitali’s life companion.
Antonio Vitali (1909–2008) was a Swiss toy designer known for sculpted, rounded handmade wooden toys. Besides his own workshops in Zurich, Sornico and New York, he worked with Creative Playthings, Naef, Ravensburger and NikiTiki. According to IC Design, Vitali designed the goose in 1960.
