Brox Blank Bars are the unilluminated bridging elements in Visual Comfort's Brox modular linear system — aluminum extrusions in Nightshade Black that match the Brox Light Bar profile exactly, allowing designers to create deliberate gaps, pauses, and asymmetric zones of light within a single continuous run. Where a Light Bar illuminates, a Blank Bar simply bridges — maintaining the visual continuity of the aluminum line while creating shadow or negative space in the lighting composition.
This design flexibility is what separates a Brox installation from a standard continuous LED strip: the ability to punctuate light with intentional darkness, to frame a surface rather than flood it, or to extend a run across an architectural feature without illuminating it. All Blank Bars share the Nightshade Black aluminum finish and standard Brox connector geometry, so they integrate seamlessly with Light Bars and all Brox connector types.
Available in 12, 24, 48, 72, and 96-inch lengths to match the Light Bar size range, Blank Bars let the designer compose the run at any scale. Pair with Brox Connectors (Wall, I, L, C-corner, T), Brox Light Bars, and Brox Aircraft Cable for ceiling suspension. Free shipping at MetropolitanDecor.com.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do Blank Bars carry electrical current?
A: No — Blank Bars are purely mechanical bridging elements with no electrical function. They connect physically to Light Bars and Connectors using the standard Brox attachment system but do not transmit power or produce light.
Q: Can I use a Blank Bar at the start or end of a run?
A: Yes — Blank Bars can be placed anywhere in the run, including at the start or end. If used at the end, finish with a Brox End Cap to close the extrusion cleanly. This is a common approach when you want the run to extend past the last illuminated section before reaching a wall or corner.
Q: What lengths should I order to match my Light Bars?
A: Blank Bars are available in the same five lengths as Light Bars (12, 24, 48, 72, 96 inches), so you can match any gap width exactly to an illuminated section for a proportional, intentional composition.
