At 53 inches tall, the Collier Alabaster 53 Sconce is the tallest wall fixture in the Alabaster series and one of the most striking vertical light objects available in residential and hospitality lighting. Ten or more faceted alabaster elements stacked end-to-end and illuminated from within create a column of warm, diffused light that reads from across even large rooms — anchoring a wall, marking the boundary of a space, or standing as a singular design statement in a double-height entryway or lobby. The Czech-manufactured alabaster diffuses light in a way that feels natural rather than artificial, with subtle variations in translucency across the stone surface.
This size of fixture is unambiguously statement-scale. Place it solo on a wall of sufficient proportion, pair two flanking a fireplace or artwork, or install multiples at spacing to create an architectural lighting rhythm down a significant corridor. Custom-engineered natural brass connectors link each alabaster element precisely, with no visible hardware interrupting the vertical flow. The universal 120-277V driver ships with the fixture, and the fixture is damp-rated for bathroom and covered outdoor use.
Available in Bronze, Hand Rubbed Antique Brass, and Polished Nickel. When planning an installation with multiple sconces of this size, the manufacturer recommends a minimum of 8–10 feet of spacing between fixtures for balanced light distribution.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of spaces are best suited to a 53-inch wall sconce?
This is a large-scale fixture suited to double-height entries, hotel lobbies, stairwells, commercial hospitality spaces, and any residential space with ceilings above 10 feet where a standard sconce would feel dwarfed by the wall area. For 8–9-foot ceilings, the 15 or 40-inch sizes are more appropriate.
Can the Collier 53 be used outdoors?
The fixture is damp-rated, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as exterior entries, covered patios, and eaves. It is not wet-rated for direct rain exposure.
How does the light quality of alabaster compare to crystal versions?
Alabaster produces a softer, warmer, more diffused light — the stone's natural mineral structure scatters light gently rather than refracting it into sparkle. The Crystal Collier series (700WSCLR) creates more prismatic light play. Alabaster is generally considered better for intimate and residential applications; crystal suits hospitality and higher-drama environments.
Are custom lengths available?
