The Karam Large Pendant by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort Modern is an oversized ceramic pendant that earns its footprint through material authenticity. At 21.3 inches wide, the drum-form shade is thrown and finished by hand, giving each piece a surface character that photographic reproductions consistently underrepresent — the slight irregularities in the glaze, the texture variations in the clay body, and the subtle tonal shifts that distinguish handcrafted ceramic from molded production work. Two colorways are available: Black/Black, with a matte black ceramic shade on a black hardware body, and Concrete/White, with a pale, dust-toned ceramic shade on a white body. Both read dramatically differently in practice; the Black disappears light into itself while the Concrete radiates warmth.
