vallve-hexa-small-tray-chrome
Vallvé Hexa Small Tray

A vanity tray that gathers bottles, dispensers and small things into one place from Vallvé's Hexa collection: the Hexa collection's small tray in polished chrome, handmade in Brazil.

The Vallvé Hexa small tray measures 13½ × 5½ × 1¼ in (34.3 × 14 × 3.2 cm) and comes in Chrome (the distributor files it with the Light Sky Hexa pieces) with a polished finish. Hexa builds every piece on a hexagon. Vallvé says the hexagonal form and the printed transparency of the crystal resin give the set a three-dimensional effect; the distributor notes that the angles add dimension to a vanity.

Specifications

Brand: Vallvé (São Paulo, Brazil)

Collection: Hexa

Type: Tray

Color: Chrome (the distributor files it with the Light Sky Hexa pieces)

Finish: Polished

Material: Chrome-finished metal

Dimensions: 13½ × 5½ × 1¼ in (34.3 × 14 × 3.2 cm)

Placement: Countertop

Weight: Not published by the distributor

Made in: Brazil (handmade, per Vallvé)

Care: Wipe clean by hand (our advice)

Item number (MPN): 0080760

EAN barcode: 7892402000091

Shipping: Ships in 2–3 business days

Features

Chrome-finished metal

Chrome (the distributor files it with the Light Sky Hexa pieces), polished finish

Part of Vallvé's Hexa collection

Handmade in São Paulo, Brazil (per Vallvé)

Best for

Use it to corral the soap dispenser, toothbrush holder and small bottles into one tidy group.

Who this is not for

Anyone who needs dishwasher-safe accessories: resin should be wiped clean by hand (our advice; no care ratings are published).

Anyone who wants soft, rounded shapes: Hexa is all angles.

Anyone who needs it within a day or two: allow 2–3 business days to ship, plus transit.

Why we carry it

We've been curating design-led pieces since 2009, and Vallvé is the rare bath brand that still makes and finishes resin by hand. The Hexa pieces look like objects rather than accessories, and they are made to be used every day.

The Vallvé story

Vallvé was founded in São Paulo in 1962 by Josep Maria Sedó Vallvé, who came to Brazil from the Priorat region of Catalonia. He built his own machinery and techniques for working resin together with metal, wood and acrylic. Vallvé opened its first showroom, Cristal Banho, in 1978, and in the 1990s his son Pedro Sedó took over and made it the leader in luxury bath accessories in Brazil. Since 2003 it has won the Top of Mind Casa & Mercado award in the bathroom boutique category, and Vallvé says its production is still 100% handmade.

Worth the investment

Used every day for five years, $292 comes to about $0.16 a day (our math). You are paying for a hand-finished piece from a company that has worked in resin for more than 60 years, not a molded plastic copy.

Buy once: durability and care

Neither Vallvé nor the distributor publishes care instructions. Resin is durable but can scratch, so wipe it with a soft, damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry it with a microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, solvents and nail-polish remover, and keep it out of the dishwasher. Dry metal parts after splashes to avoid water spots (our advice).

Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions of the Vallvé Hexa small tray?

13½ × 5½ × 1¼ in (34.3 × 14 × 3.2 cm).

What is the Hexa small tray made of?

Chrome-finished metal, in Chrome with a polished finish.

What fits on the Hexa small tray?

At 13½ × 5½ × 1¼ in it holds a soap dispenser plus one or two small pieces, depending on their footprint; measure your pieces against it (our suggestion).

How do I clean the Hexa small tray?

Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry it.
