Gloss is one of Vallvé's most successful lines since its launch in 2002. In Gloss Gold, clear crystal resin is painted with metallic gold on the inside, so the color sits behind a thick, glassy wall; Vallvé says the golden hues bring elegance and sophistication to the bathroom.

Specifications

Brand: Vallvé (São Paulo, Brazil)

Collection: Gloss Gold

Type: Soap dispenser

Color: Gold / Clear

Finish: Polished

Material: Clear crystal resin with metallic gold painting inside; gold-finished metal

Dimensions: 3⅛ × 3⅛ × 8 in (7.9 × 7.9 × 20.3 cm)

Capacity: Not published by Vallvé or the distributor

Placement: Countertop

Weight: Not published by the distributor

Made in: Brazil (handmade, per Vallvé)

Care: Wipe clean by hand (our advice)

Item number (MPN): 005002001101

EAN barcode: 7892402000558

Shipping: Ships in 2–3 business days

Features

Clear crystal resin with metallic gold painting inside; gold-finished metal

Gold / Clear, polished finish

Part of Vallvé's Gloss Gold collection

Handmade in São Paulo, Brazil (per Vallvé)

Best for

Set it beside the basin as the everyday pump for hand soap or lotion. The Gloss Gold pieces look like objects rather than accessories, and they are made to be used every day.

The Vallvé story

Vallvé was founded in São Paulo in 1962 by Josep Maria Sedó Vallvé, who came to Brazil from the Priorat region of Catalonia. He built his own machinery and techniques for working resin together with metal, wood and acrylic. Vallvé opened its first showroom, Cristal Banho, in 1978, and in the 1990s his son Pedro Sedó took over and made it the leader in luxury bath accessories in Brazil. Since 2003 it has won the Top of Mind Casa & Mercado award in the bathroom boutique category, and Vallvé says its production is still 100% handmade.

Worth the investment

Used every day for five years, $769 comes to about $0.42 a day (our math). You are paying for a hand-finished piece from a company that has worked in resin for more than 60 years, not a molded plastic copy.

Buy once: durability and care

Neither Vallvé nor the distributor publishes care instructions. Resin is durable but can scratch, so wipe it with a soft, damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry it with a microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, solvents and nail-polish remover, and keep it out of the dishwasher. Dry metal parts after splashes to avoid water spots (our advice).

Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions of the Vallvé Gloss Gold soap dispenser?

3⅛ × 3⅛ × 8 in (7.9 × 7.9 × 20.3 cm).

What is the Gloss Gold soap dispenser made of?

Clear crystal resin with metallic gold painting inside; gold-finished metal, in clear resin with gold with a polished finish.

How much soap does the Gloss Gold soap dispenser hold?

Vallvé and the distributor don't publish the capacity.
