The result is a 26.8"-tall column of hand-assembled birch strips that hides two bulbs and glows warmly through the veneer. It suits a sideboard, a console or a large nightstand, and looks like a wooden sculpture in daylight.

Specifications

Brand: Tom Rossau (Copenhagen, Denmark)

Model: TR7 Table Lamp

Designer: Tom Rossau, 2005

Type: Column table lamp of twisted birch strips on a low stand

Colors: Natural Birch

Dimensions: 9.8" diameter × 26.8" high (25 × 60 cm)

Weight: 8.62 lb

Materials: Hand-assembled strips of birch veneer

Light source: 2 E26 sockets, max 60W incandescent or 15W LED each; bulbs not included (Tom Rossau recommends warm 2700K A19/A60 LEDs of 5–8W)

Dimming: Dimmable with dimmable LED bulbs and a compatible wall dimmer (not included)

Cord: 118" (3 m) cord with plug

Assembly: Arrives fully assembled

Electrical: 120V, UL listed (US version)

Origin: Handmade in Copenhagen, Denmark

Warranty: 2 years (24 months) against manufacturing defects

Lead time: Made to order in Copenhagen: delivered in about 10 weeks (70 days).

Item numbers (MPN): Natural Birch: 843

Features

Redesigned in 2023 with a lower stand

Hand-assembled natural birch strips

9.8" × 26.8"

Two E26 bulbs, dimmable with dimmable LEDs

Handmade in Copenhagen

Best for

Sideboards, consoles, desks, large nightstands and hotel reception desks. Every Tom Rossau lamp is still built by hand in the company’s own workshop on Frederiksberg Allé in Copenhagen, by a single lamp builder who signs the card that comes with it.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and the TR7 table lamp gives a sideboard the same sculptural presence as a piece of studio ceramics, with the warmth of real birch.

Buy once: durability and care

Dust the birch strips with a soft, dry brush; keep the lamp away from water, steam and humid rooms, because moisture softens the veneer and can make stained colors bleed. Like all natural wood, the birch slowly develops a patina and may shift its shape very slightly over the years: Tom Rossau calls it a living material. Tom Rossau covers manufacturing defects for 2 years.
