The frame is solid grade A teak with wide flat arms that hold a drink, and the 16 in seat height puts it at coffee-table level. The weave is Viro fiber, a synthetic wicker that keeps its shape and color through heat, cold and rain. It works on a pool deck or balcony and just as well in a living room, lobby or condo amenity space.

Specifications

Size: 27.5 in high x 27 in wide x 35.5 in deep (69.8 x 68.6 x 90.2 cm), seat 16 in high (40.6 cm)

Weight capacity: 350 lb (158.8 kg)

Chair weight: 35 lb (15.9 kg)

Frame: solid grade A teak, natural finish

Seat and back: woven Viro fiber rope, durable in any temperature

Carton: 29 x 29 x 36 in (73.7 x 73.7 x 91.4 cm), one chair per carton

Matching piece: Calava ottoman

Designer: sohoConcept in-house design team

Where to use it

Pool decks, balconies and rooftop terraces

Living rooms and reading corners in Scandinavian, Japandi or coastal schemes

Condo amenity lounges, hotel lobbies and resort cabanas

Paired around a low teak side table for conversation groupings

Planning notes

The seat is 16 in high, so pair it with coffee or side tables around 16 to 20 in high.

Allow a footprint of about 27 x 36 in per chair plus walking room in front.

Add the matching Calava ottoman to put your feet up.

The rope seat needs no cushion, so there is nothing to bring inside when it rains.

Shipping: in-stock lounge chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. Left outdoors it slowly weathers to a soft silver-grey, and the grain may rise slightly after the first few soakings. Clean it once or twice a year with a soft brush, mild soap and water; never use a power washer, which erodes the surface. Teak cannot be painted or varnished. For winter storage use a dry shed or garage, and do not move the piece straight from the cold into a heated room, as sudden changes in temperature and humidity can split the wood. Wipe the woven rope with a damp cloth and mild soap, rinse, and let it air-dry in the open.

Designer credit

The Calava Arm Lounge is designed by the sohoConcept team as part of its outdoor teak collection, built for both residential and commercial use.

Downloads

Calava Teak Armchair Lounge tear sheet (PDF)

Frequently asked questions

Can the Calava lounge chair stay outside?

Yes.
