Designed by Michele De Lucchi with Alberto Nason in 1998, it holds a mouth-blown Murano glass shade on a slim gray metal arm. The shade rotates 180° from top to bottom and the light can be mounted with the cord up or down, so you can point it at the ceiling for a soft indirect glow or down for direct light. Choose sanded glass for the most diffused light, clear glass for sparkle, or transparent green for a tinted glow. The shade is 4.75″ across and 7.9″ high and takes one E12 bulb up to 60 W.

Specifications

Brand: Produzione Privata (Italy, founded 1990)

Model: Acquaparete

Designers: Michele De Lucchi with Alberto Nason, 1998

Type: Wall light with adjustable glass shade

Glass options: Clear Glass, Sanded Glass, Green Glass

Shade size: Ø 4.75″ × H 7.9″

Wall plate: Ø 3.1″ × 1″

Weight: 1.8 lb (0.8 kg)

Materials: Mouth-blown Murano glass shade; gray metal arm and wall plate

Mounting: Cord up or down; shade rotates 180° from top to bottom

Light: Direct or indirect, depending on the position

Socket: E12 candelabra base, max 60 W

Location: Indoor

Made in: Italy

Item numbers (MPN): Clear Glass ML-APTR; Sanded Glass ML-APSA; Green Glass ML-APTG

Features

Mouth-blown Murano glass shade, made in Italy

Shade rotates 180° for up-light or down-light

Mounts with the cord up or down

Sanded, clear or transparent green glass

E12 socket, max 60 W

Best for

Either side of a bed, along a hallway, beside a mirror in a powder room, or above a console or desk. Produzione Privata is the workshop label architect and designer Michele De Lucchi founded in 1990 with Sibylle Kicherer, to make experimental objects free of commission with skilled Italian craftspeople. Its laboratories work in glass, ceramics, wood and metal; the Murano pieces are blown one at a time, so each is similar but never identical.

Buy once: durability and care

Glass and metal made to last for decades. Switch off and let the lamp cool before cleaning. Dust the glass and metal with a soft dry cloth; for fingerprints, use a cloth lightly dampened with water (or a mild glass cleaner sprayed on the cloth, never on the lamp) and dry it.
