It is 6 in (15.2 cm) wide and 20 in (50.8 cm) high and sits 4 in (10.2 cm) off the wall, with 1 light, in Blacksmith or Etruscan Gold.

It takes an E12 Candelabra bulb up to 40W. A 2700K to 3000K LED bulb keeps a hallway, living room or bedroom warm; 3500K reads crisper on a stairway. It is ADA compliant at 4 in (10.2 cm) deep, so it suits corridors, hotel rooms and other commercial spaces. Maxim rates it for Triac or ELV (Phase Dim) dimming. White glass softens the light and cuts glare at eye level. Choose Blacksmith or Etruscan Gold to match door hardware, picture frames or a nearby ceiling fixture; it suits Transitional schemes.

Details and dimensions

Brand: Maxim Lighting

Collection: Martel

Type: Wall sconce

Style: Transitional

Lights: 1

Dimensions: 6 in (15.2 cm) wide, 20 in (50.8 cm) high

Extension from wall: 4 in (10.2 cm)

Backplate: 4.75 x 6.25 in (12.1 x 15.9 cm) W x H

Mounting direction: Up

ADA compliant: Yes

Finishes: Blacksmith, Etruscan Gold

Glass or shade: White

Material: Steel,Fabric

Light source: 1 x E12 Candelabra socket, 40W max each, bulbs not included

Warranty: 3 years

Dimming: Triac or ELV (Phase Dim)

Voltage: 120V

Location rating: Damp

Certification: cETLus

Net weight: 1.56 lb (0.7 kg)

Packed weight: 1.56 lb (0.7 kg)

Item numbers (MPN): 21840WTBS, 21840WTEG

Delivery: Ships in 3 to 5 business days.

Where it works best

In a hallway or living room, center each sconce at roughly eye level, about 5 ft 6 in (168 cm) up, with 8 to 10 ft between fixtures. Next to a bed, place it 2 to 2.5 ft over the mattress top so the light falls on a book. On a stairway, keep each sconce the same height above the treads. Either side of a bathroom mirror, mount them at about eye level, 36 to 40 in apart, for even light on the face.

Who this is not for

It is damp rated, so a bathroom or covered porch is fine, but not a spot exposed to rain or shower spray.
