Designed in 1929/30 and attributed to Bauhaus architect Johannes Gabriel, they are turned from maple and strung for hanging, crafted largely by hand in the Black Forest. The bell is 1.25 inches tall and the cones 4 inches. Gift boxed.

The originals were found in the estate of a Cologne architect who bought many objects directly from the Bauhaus. Their clean geometric forms recall Oskar Schlemmer’s costumes for the Triadic Ballet. IC Design notes that each ornament is handmade and hand-painted in the Black Forest.

Specifications

Brand: IC Design (Zurich)

Model: Bauhaus Christmas Ornaments, Set of 12

Designer: Attributed to Bauhaus architect Johannes Gabriel, 1929/30

Materials: Turned maple wood and string

Contents: Set of 12 handmade ornaments

Sizes: Bell H 1.25"; cones H 4"

Packaging: Gift boxed

Made in: Germany (Black Forest)

Item number (MPN): IC-OrnamentSet

Features

Turned maple wood and string

Designed by Attributed to Bauhaus architect Johannes Gabriel (1929/30)

Made in Germany (Black Forest)

IC Design edition

Gift boxed

Best for

Christmas trees, winter branches, windows and holiday gifts.
