The lid lifts off to show a warm brown interior, so the box holds remotes, jewelry or cards and works as a textured accent.

At 12 inches wide, 8 inches deep and 4 inches high, it is a larger box that suits a coffee table or credenza. The soft tones suit Scandinavian, coastal and transitional rooms and work in an office, a hotel suite or a boutique.

Specifications

Collection: Metropolitan Decor Essentials

Dimensions: 12 in W x 8 in D x 4 in H (30.5 x 20.3 x 10.2 cm)

Materials: MDF and resin

Finish / Color: Cream with gray striated squares, warm brown interior

Features: Lift-off lid with square handle

Item number: MD-MDE-20141

Where to use it

Coffee table: Hide remotes and coasters in a textured box.

Credenza or desk: Store cards, notepads and chargers.

Hotel suite: Hold stationery and amenities.

Boutique counter: Display it as a decor accent.

Planning notes

Place the box on a tray or on a stack of books. The square lid handle is small, so lift the lid with two fingers and set it down flat on a soft surface.

Pair with natural wood, linen and brass for a calm palette. The gray squares vary a little in pattern from box to box. Wipe with a soft dry cloth and keep it out of damp areas and direct sun so the tones stay even. In a living room, set the box on a coffee table beside a candle and a stack of books for a layered arrangement. In a hotel suite, a box on the writing desk gives guests a place for pens and notepads. The square handle matches the gray squares, so the lid looks finished from every angle.

Who this is not for

Not for outdoor use: we recommend it for indoor rooms.

Not for heavy loads: use it for small items, not as a stand for heavy objects.

Care

Dust with a soft dry cloth and spot clean the outside with a barely damp one.
