BLUNT is a New Zealand umbrella brand known for its engineering. Its patented rounded BLUNT tips spread tension evenly from the frame to the canopy edge, giving the canopy its taut, wind-resistant shape and making the umbrella safer to carry in a crowd. The umbrellas are built from modular parts so they can be repaired rather than thrown away, and BLUNT rates every model in its range to wind speeds of 115 km/h (about 72 mph).

Buy once: durability and care

When it is new, open it fully and leave it open overnight to loosen the mechanism. After rain, let it dry completely, open or standing upright, before you fold it away. Clean the canopy with warm water and a soft cloth (no detergents, harsh brushes or machine washing), wipe the handle and shaft now and then, store it dry, and check that the rounded tips sit firmly in place.

Frequently asked questions

How small does the BLUNT Metro fold?

To 14.8″ (37.5 cm), and it weighs 13.6 oz (385 g), so it fits in a handbag, tote or backpack.

Does the BLUNT Metro open automatically?

Yes, an auto-open button pops the canopy open at your fingertips.

How much does the BLUNT Metro cover?

Its canopy is 39.4″ (100 cm) across — sized perfectly for one person.

What is the Metro’s spinning canopy for?

The canopy can rotate 360°, so it rolls off bumps from walls, doorways and passers-by in narrow spaces.

Is the BLUNT Metro windproof?

BLUNT rates its umbrellas to 115 km/h (about 72 mph), and the tensioned canopy holds its shape.

Which BLUNT Metro color is easiest to live with?
