She favors pure, simple shapes and colors that don’t date, and she cares as much about how a piece works day to day as how it looks. SABLO, a tableware family of 18 pieces, was her first design for blomus; her CEOLA vases followed.

Why we carry it

We are an authorized blomus retailer and have been curating design-led pieces for the home since 2009. SABLO is stoneware made from colored clay blended with quartz, minerals and oxides and fired at a very high temperature. The firing makes the body dense enough to go without an all-over glaze, so every piece is glazed only in part; the rest is left as raw, lightly speckled clay with a fine, sandy feel. Cloud is a soft off-white with a hint of gray, Stone a pale gray with a cool blue cast, and Savannah a warm, deep yellow; on every color the bare band is a sandy beige. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.

Buy once: durability and care

Dishwasher and microwave safe, according to blomus. Our advice: the 13.4" bowl is wide, so check your dishwasher rack or wash it by hand. Glaze and clay react to the kiln, so color and texture vary slightly from one piece to the next.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes are the SABLO serving bowls?

Salad bowl 13.4" × 3" (34.5 × 7.5 cm), small salad bowl 11.2" × 3" (28 × 7.5 cm) and serving bowl 7.9" × 3.7" (20 × 9.5 cm).

Which SABLO bowl is best for a big salad?

The 13.4" salad bowl; it’s wide enough to toss leaves for a full table.

Which colors are SABLO salad bowls available in?

Cloud in all three sizes; Stone in the 13.4" bowl; Savannah in the 13.4" and 11.2" bowls.

Is the SABLO serving bowl sold singly?

Yes, each serving and salad bowl is a single piece.

Is SABLO serving bowls dishwasher and microwave safe?

Yes, blomus lists SABLO as both dishwasher and microwave safe.

How fast does the SABLO salad bowls ship?

In-stock items ship in 2–3 business days.

Trade pricing for design professionals

Interior designers, architects, restaurateurs, hospitality buyers and home stagers can apply to the MetropolitanDecor Trade Program for trade pricing on blomus and the rest of our catalog, a dedicated trade support line, and free catalogs.
