The stoneware is finished with a reactive glaze, which responds to the slightest change of oxygen in the kiln, so every firing comes out differently. Dots and irregularities are part of the result, in the spirit of wabi-sabi, where beauty is found in the imperfect. Espresso is a deep, dark brown and Fungi a warm mushroom gray-beige; the two are meant to be mixed. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany.
