The Small size measures about 3.9" × 2.8" and stands about 2.4" high (10 × 7 × 6 cm), sized for a European block of butter. Like the rest of BASIC it is 18/8 brushed stainless steel, so it never takes on odors and matches the creamer, sugar bowl and trays.

Specifications

Brand: blomus (Sundern, Germany)

Collection: BASIC

Designer: Nina Thöming

Type: Lidded brushed stainless-steel butter dish with double-walled base

Dimensions: Small: about 3.9" × 2.8" × 2.4" high (10 × 7 × 6 cm), Medium

Pieces per order: Base with lid

Material: 18/8 brushed stainless steel

Care: Wash and dry by hand (see each item)

Features: Double-insulated base helps keep butter cool at the table

Delivery: Ships in 2–3 business days

Item numbers (MPN): Small: 63637; Medium: 63638

Features

Double-insulated base

Fitted stainless-steel lid

About 3.9" × 2.8" × 2.4" high

18/8 brushed stainless steel

Matches the BASIC series

Best for

Breakfast tables, brunch spreads, kitchen counters and bread baskets. She begins every project by researching what people need and where the market falls short, then turns those findings into objects that are useful first and beautiful too. Her other blomus designs include the PILAR tableware, the MODO and SONO bath ranges and the SPIRIT lantern.

Why we carry it

We are an authorized blomus retailer and have been curating design-led pieces for the home since 2009. BASIC is the blomus breakfast-and-snack series we recommend to customers who want serving pieces that never go out of style: brushed stainless steel, clean lines and sizes that stack and combine on a tray. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.

Buy once: durability and care

Wash the lid and base in warm, soapy water and dry them well. blomus does not list this piece as dishwasher safe, so our advice is to wash it by hand. Stainless steel does not take on flavors or odors, so the same piece moves from butter to jam to nuts without a second thought.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the BASIC butter dish?

The Small measures about 3.9" × 2.8" × 2.4" high (10 × 7 × 6 cm).

Why does the BASIC butter dish have a double base?

The double-insulated base helps keep butter cool at the table.

Does the BASIC butter dish include a lid?

Yes, a stainless-steel lid.

What is the BASIC butter dish made of?

18/8 brushed stainless steel.

Is a larger BASIC butter dish available?

blomus also makes a Medium size, which is currently sold out.

How fast will the BASIC butter dish ship?

In-stock items ship in 2–3 business days, and orders over $100 ship free by ground to the 48 contiguous states.

Trade pricing for design professionals

Interior designers, architects, hospitality buyers and home stagers can apply to the MetropolitanDecor Trade Program for trade pricing on blomus and the rest of our catalog, a dedicated trade support line, and free catalogs.
