Eighty-one Novo Short Luminous Ring lights sit in a grid across a 72-inch square of low-profile steel canopies, so the fixture covers a large conference table, a hotel lobby, a restaurant dining room, a lounge or an open office without hanging into head height. In Matte Black, White or Polished Chrome, it reads as a crisp, architectural Modern ceiling feature that works as well in a large residential great room or home theater as in hospitality and corporate spaces.

It is a serious working light, too. Together the 81 points deliver 29,500 lumens at 90 CRI in warm 3000K white, enough to serve as the main light for a big room while staying glare-free, because each acrylic light guide glows softly instead of showing a bare LED. The drivers are built into the canopy with 120-277V input and universal TRIAC, ELV and 0-10V dimming, so you can take it from full brightness for meetings to a low glow for dinner or presentations. It is led by industrial designer Stephen Blackman, its President and Chief Design Officer. A Syracuse University industrial design graduate, he entered the lighting industry in 1984 at Sonneman Design Group and founded his own studio, Blackman Design Associates, in 1988, designing for manufacturers such as Kichler Lighting before launching Blackjack in 2013. His focus has always been practical: fixtures built around LED light from the start, like SNF, which spreads even, glare-free light across an entire ceiling.

FAQ

What ceiling structure does the SNF need?

The fixture weighs 195 lb (88.5 kg), so it needs blocking or structural support in the ceiling. Plan the mounting with your electrician or contractor before installation.

Can the driver be located away from the fixture?

Yes. Dimming lets you lower it for presentations or evening use.

Will it work with my dimmer?

Yes. It dims on TRIAC (incandescent-style), ELV and 0-10V controls, so it works with home dimmers and commercial lighting systems.

Can it go in a covered outdoor area?

It is damp location rated, which covers covered porches and similar humid spaces, but not direct rain.
