blackjack-lighting-compass-led-ring-pendant-24-36-inch
Blackjack Lighting Compass 24 or 36-Inch LED Ring Pendant, JA8

Compass is a single, slim ring of light that lets a room read clean and open. A 1.25-inch aluminum profile with a glowing silicone diffuser floats on three fine cables, so it fills the space above a table without blocking the view across it. The 24-inch ring centers a round dining table, a breakfast nook or an entry; the 36-inch ring takes on a larger dining table, a living room, a conference table or a reception area. In Matte Black or White it fits Modern, Scandinavian and Transitional interiors, and it is just as comfortable in offices, hotel lobbies and restaurants as in a home. Hang two or three sizes together at different heights for a striking layered look in a double-height space.

The light is broad and even. The continuous LED ring puts out 2,086 lumens (24 in) or 2,270 lumens (36 in) at 90 CRI, enough to be the main light over a table, and the diffused face spreads it without bright spots or glare. Choose from 2700K, 3000K, 3500K or 4000K to match the rest of the room. The driver sits in the 9-inch canopy and runs on 120-277V with universal TRIAC, ELV and 0-10V dimming, so it works with home dimmers and commercial controls alike. It is JA8 compliant for California Title 24 projects and rated for damp locations.

Why it works over a table

Light without bulk: a 1.25 in (3.2 cm) ring profile and three thin cables keep sight lines clear.

Real output: up to 2,270 lumens of even, diffused light from a continuous LED ring.

True color: 90 CRI for food, faces and finishes.

Your choice of white: 2700K, 3000K, 3500K or 4000K.

Dims on almost anything: universal TRIAC, ELV and 0-10V on 120-277V.

Code ready: JA8 compliant, ETL listed and damp location rated, with a three-year warranty on the LED and power supply.

Where to use it

Dining table: pick a ring about half to two-thirds the table width (24 in for a 42 to 48 in round table, 36 in for a 72 in table) and hang it 30 to 36 in (76 to 91 cm) above the top.

Living room or bedroom: center the 36 in ring in the room as an ambient ceiling light; It is led by industrial designer Stephen Blackman, its President and Chief Design Officer. A Syracuse University industrial design graduate, he entered the lighting industry in 1984 at Sonneman Design Group and founded his own studio, Blackman Design Associates, in 1988, designing for manufacturers such as Kichler Lighting before launching Blackjack in 2013. His focus has always been practical: fixtures built around LED light from the start, like Compass, where a single ring of even light does the work of a much larger fixture.

FAQ

Which size do I need?

As a rule, choose a ring about half to two-thirds the width of the table below it.
